PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exterior material capable of providing a novel aesthetic appearance and having construction efficiency, waterproof function, and heat insulation function. SOLUTION: A male type connection part 12 comprises a roughly horizontal decorative surface 4, a stepped decorative surface 6 formed by suspending the tip of the decorative surface 4 downward, an upper surface 7 projected inward along the stepped decorative surface 6 and the decorative surface 4, and a deepest piece 8 projected downward, an insert piece 9 having a tip projected to a water lower side. A roughly channel-shaped engagement groove 10 is formed by the upper surface 7, the deepest piece 8, and the insertion piece 9 to form an insertion clearance 11. A female type joint part 21 comprises a fixed piece 13 formed by further projecting the other end upper end portion of the decorative surface 4 to the water upper side, a first waterproof piece 14 bent outward, an upper surface 15 formed by projecting the tip of the first waterproof piece 14 to the water upper side, an engagement groove 16 engaged with the insertion piece 9 formed in a roughly channel shape in cross section by the upper surface 15 and the first waterproof piece 14, a second waterproof piece 17 formed by bending the tip of the upper surface 15 to the water lower side, a fitting piece 18 formed by the upper surface 15 and the second waterproof piece 17, and a projection 19 formed at the tip of the second waterproof piece 17.
