PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interface circuit which enables input and output of data to and from a circuit different in clock by simplifying circuitry. SOLUTION: The interface circuit performs interface processing of data transfer between a first circuit and a second circuit and is equipped with a shift register which comprises a plurality of data holding elements and sequentially transfers the input data between the holding elements and sequentially transfers the data with the first circuit, and a flag bit which corresponds to the data holding elements constituting the shift register and stores the information as to whether the data are stored in the data holding elements or not.
