A controller of a driver for vehicle which has a differential mechanism and a stepwise speed change gear provided in the power transmission path from the differential mechanism to a drive wheel and enables the size of the driver to be reduced, the fuel consumption to be enhanced, and speed change shock to be suppressed at the time of clutch-to-clutch speed change of the stepwise speed change gear.
