A chip stop mechanism capable of suppressing the sagging, outer draw, and solidification of residual contents at and around a contents discharge port. When an operation button (2) in a stationary mode is depressed, a passage member (5) is moved leftward as viewed from the front of the figure by the action of the tapered surface (2c) of the operation button and the contents discharge port (5a) is separated from a seal member (4) to communicate with an external space. In the stationary mode, the discharge port (5a) is not directly closed by the seal member (4) but the seal acting surface (4a) of the seal member is brought into contact with the flange parts (5c) and (24c) of the passage member disposed on the external space side of the discharge port. The operation button is so formed that, when it is returned to that contact state, the portion thereof (the large diameter inner peripheral surface (4b) of the seal member (4)) facing the large diameter outer peripheral surface portion (5b) of the passage member around the discharge port (5a)(to which the residual contents are liable to adhere) is not brought into contact with the large diameter outer peripheral surface portion. A space area for back suction is set between the rear end part of the seal member (4) and the skirt-like part (6b) of a tail plug part (6).
