摘要 Provided is an apparatus for recovering p-xylene of high terephthalic acid containing acetic acid, to prevent the deterioration of efficiency of the hydrolysis of methyl acetate as a by-product in the preparation of terephthalic acid with acetic acid. The apparatus comprises a methyl acetate hydrolysis reaction tower which hydrolyzes the flown methyl acetate, p-xylene and water; a decanter which is connected with the reaction tower by an intermediate pipe to remove the p-xylene remaining at the lower part of the reaction tower; and a balance line which connects the upper part of the reaction tower and the upper part of the decanter to make the vapor pressure of the reaction tower be identical to that of the decanter. The decanter separates and discharges the p-xylene accumulated at the upper part by the specific gravity difference from a mixture of water, acetic acid, methanol and p-xylene flown continuously from the lower part of the reaction tower.
