PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide structure, having an optical waveguide that is superior in durability, in which the core part (optical path) having wide latitude for designing pattern figure and high-dimensional accuracy can be formed, using a simple method. SOLUTION: The optical waveguide structure 1 includes an optical waveguide 9 comprising clad layers 91, 92 layered on both faces of a core layer 93; conductive layers 51, 52 jointed to the both faces of the optical waveguide; an optical path converting part 96 which bends the optical path of the optical waveguide 9 at about a right angle; a light-emitting element 10; and an electrical element 12. The core layer 93 has a core part 94, constituting the optical path for transmitted light and a clad part 95, wherein the core part 94 is formed by selectively irradiating the core layer 93 made of a material with active radiation, the refractive index of which is changed by the irradiation with active radiation or further by heating, into a desired shape.
