PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of obtaining uniform surface potential in the axial direction of a photoreceptor drum. SOLUTION: A heater 9 having predetermined temperature gradient in the axial direction is disposed on the inside 1a of an amorphous silicon photoreceptor drum 1 in the image forming apparatus 100. The heater 9 has three-layer structure, and the surface of glass cloth 9a is covered with an urethane film 9b. One linear heating element 9c is held on the glass cloth 9a so as to reciprocate in the peripheral direction A of the photoreceptor drum 1 in the sheet type heater 9. Furthermore, the heating element 9c is linearly held to be nearly parallel with the peripheral direction A.
