PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coupling structure of a roof side rail with an intermediate pillar of a vehicle capable of strengthening the stiffness against an external force when the vehicle goes in a lateral collision etc. using a simple construction and without increase in the weight and establishing good economy and easiness in executing the operation of filling the coupling part with a foaming substance for prevention of penetrating sounds. SOLUTION: The coupling structure is to couple the intermediate part of the roof side rail 1 of the vehicle embodied with a hollow section from an outer plate 10 and an inner plate 20 and extending fore and aft with the top of the intermediate pillar 2 embodied with a hollow section from an outer plate 20 and an inner plate 21 and extending up and down in such an arrangement so that the hollow sections of the two members are in mutual communication, and inside thereof a reinforcing plate approximately in a T-shape is installed for partitioning inside the roof side rail 1 and inside the intermediate pillar 2 into the inner part and outer part, wherein the reinforcing plate 3 has an intermediate step part 31 formed approximately with a Z-section crossing inside the roof side rail 1 and inside the intermediate pillar 2 in the direction to the inside and outside, and with this step part 31 a bulkhead is formed which partitions inside the roof side rail 2 in the direction fore and aft.
