PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simulated tobacco smell composition which can accurately reproduce a tobacco smell and enables the suitable evaluation of an effect for deodorizing, masking or modulating the tobacco smell, and to provide a method for evaluating the effect for deodorizing, masking or modulating the tobacco smell with the simulated tobacco smell composition. SOLUTION: This simulated tobacco smell composition containing methoxyphenol. Preferably, the simulated tobacco smell composition furthermore containing vinylpyridine and/or ethylpyridine.
