PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately grasp the status at a periphery of a vehicle by simple operation even when a large number of cameras mounted on the vehicle and photographing the periphery of the vehicle are used. SOLUTION: The image display device is provided with an image processing part for obtaining a plurality of images in order to show a driver the situation at a periphery of the vehicle using a plurality of images obtained from a photographing part 1 including a plurality of cameras making different directions at the periphery of the vehicle as a photographing direction and creating the bird's eye view image for looking through the periphery of the vehicle using the plurality of images; and an image range selection part 6 for acquiring the situation at the periphery of the vehicle to the driver and selecting the direction relative to the own vehicle. When the bird's eye view image is displayed on the display part 2, when the direction relative to the own vehicle is selected by the image range selection part 6, a control part 3 switches it from the bird's eye view image to the image including the situation at the periphery of the vehicle in the selected direction relative to the own vehicle and display it on a display part 2.
