PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile telecommunications device and call screening method capable of performing call screening in a three-way conference call. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a mobile telecommunications device which is configured for use in a wireless communication system and includes a processor and memory in electronic communication with the processor. The memory stores instructions executable for the processor to implement a call screening method including: a step S604 of receiving an incoming call from a caller; a step S610 of answering the incoming call; a step S612 of putting the incoming call on hold; step S614 of dialing voicemail such that a voicemail call does not automatically go into the voicemail retrieval menu; and step S618 of joining the incoming call and the voicemail call into a three-way conference call such that a user of the mobile telecommunications device is able to screen the incoming call.
