The invention relates to a protection device for protective gas welding torch, comprising a nozzle pipe, a gas jet for the introduction of protective gas to the welded joint and a flow nozzle or contact nozzle for flow transfer and guidance of an electrode wire within an introduction channel, terminating in a front face. In order to achieve a continuous run for the welding process in a simple and effective manner and to prevent damage or detrimental effects to the gas nozzle and flow nozzle by welding spatter causing interruptions to a continuous welding process, the gas nozzle is provided at the conical embodiment of the outlet end with a device shielding the outlet from welding spatter. Said device has preferably a disc- or plate-like form with through openings for the gas flow and the electrode wire or in the form of a conical plug with through openings, or coated in the critical positions with a coating of a material resistant to welding beads. |
