On automatic activation or recognition of an emergency braking process as a measure for the increase in air resistance the engine bonnet is opened and/or the air flaps in the front area of the vehicle are opened and/or at least one window of the vehicle is opened and/or a component in the under floor of the vehicle is operated, thus increasing air resistance.
