<p>The invention relates to a fiber optic splice closure and to a method for making said splice closure comprising a housing (12), a support (25) placed inside the housing, at least one splice organizer (45) and a slack storage holder (30). The housing (12) has a first and a second mating housing portions (14 and 15) which are detachably secured. The support may be connected inside to the first housing portion, adjacent to one side (79). The support (25) comprises portions defining a plurality of pivotal mounting points. The slack storage holder (30) is pivotally connected to a first mounting point of the support and is pivotally movable between a stable position and a raised position. The slack storage holder (30), when in the stable position, is preferably placed generally parallel to and spaced apart from the adjacent interior portions of the first portion (14) of the housing, thereby forming a fiber routing area (32) with the adjacent housing portions.</p> |
