A method for manufacturing an electrode of a plasma display panel is provided to reduce an amount of consumption of electrode materials by forming and patterning the electrode material on only a substrate region on which the electrode is formed. Photoresist conductive paste(150) is coated on an upper substrate(110) on which a transparent conductive material is formed. A first photo mask(160) having a transmission region(162) and a blocking region(164) is formed on the whole surface of the upper substrate. The photoresist conductive paste is exposed by using the first photo mask and non-exposed photoresist conductive paste is removed through a development process to form a first electrode(112Y) and a second electrode(112Z) on the upper substrate. A black layer is printed on the whole surface of the upper substrate where the first and second electrodes are formed. A second photo mask having a transmission region and a blocking region is formed on the whole surface of the upper substrate.
