The invention relates to the tangential filtration of suspensions and may be used in the food and other branches of industry. The process for tangential filtration of suspensions includes feeding of the suspension flow onto a tubular semipermeable membrane, turbulization thereof, sedimentation of the solid particles onto the membrane, separation and removal of the filtrate, withdrawal of the concentrated suspension, membrane cleaning with an elastic element and sediment washing off the membrane with the suspension flow, as well as membrane pore opening by creation of hydraulic antiphase impulses on both sides of the filtering surface. Before feeding onto the membrane, the suspension is homogenized, and upon sedimentation of the solid particles and separation of the filtrate, the suspension flow is communicated a helical motion along the membrane. The device for tangential filtration of suspensions comprises a tubular body (18) with filtrate outlet sleeves, frontal flanges (1) with sleeves (2) for suspension inlet and for concentrated suspension outlet, a porous tubular carcass (16) with a tubular semipermeable membrane (17), placed onto its inner surface, inside which there is placed a turbulizing device with an elastic element for membrane cleaning. The turbulizing device includes a freely installed helical band rotor (9), on both ends of which there are mounted blade turbines (10), fixed with screw caps (11) , the blind end of each of which is made conic and placed respectively into the sleeves (2) for suspension inlet and for concentrated suspension outlet. The helical band rotor (9) is made single or multilobe with decreasing step towards the outlet of the concentrated suspension, with the angle of slope of the helix of 30à60? and mounted into bushes (3), fixed into the frontal flanges (1) by means of needles (5), having in section the form of rhombus or of rhombus with one or more cylindrical recesses and are placed at an angle of 60à120?. The elastic element for membrane cleaning is fixed onto the outside margin of the helical rotor's band (12).
