An apparatus for automatically exchanging a bit is provided to reduce the production process and cost by rapidly changing the drill bit into a new one by installing the bit exchange unit. An apparatus(100) for automatically exchanging a bit(102) is composed of a sensing unit(105) sensing the rupture or abrasion condition of the bit of a cutting apparatus(101); and a bit exchange unit(110) clamping the worn bit to move to the exchange position and disusing the bit, and clamping the new one placed at the preparation position to combine the new one at the cutting apparatus. The bit exchange unit contains a lifting unit(120) vertically moving the worn bit to the exchange position, a feeding unit(140) selectively taking out the bit, and a reciprocating unit(160) horizontally moving the new one from the preparation position to the exchange position.
