A brush seal assembly (10) includes a brush seal (12) having a back plate (18), a side plate (20) and a plurality of bristles (22) disposed between the back plate (18) and the side plate (20). A resilient mounting ring (14) includes at least one mounting section (26) for coupling to the brush seal (12). The mounting ring (14) defines a slot (24) for being received over a projection (40) of a housing (16) to prevent the mounting ring (14) and brush seal (12) to rotate relative to the housing (16).
