PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stop a magnetic card which is inserted into or extracted from a card slot from being read. SOLUTION: When a magnetic card 6 is inserted into a magnetic card reader of this device 2, a motor 14 is driven to start taking the magnetic card 6 in and in the taking-in operation, it is detected by a photosensor 70 for foreign matter detection. The taking-in operation for the magnetic card 6 is quit and the device 2 is forced to stop. Thus, the magnetic card 6 can be prevented from being read. |
