The method involves connecting support cleats (8) on both sides of a splay (2) at the level of a doorway of a door or a window. Lower ends (9) of slides (6) laterally guiding the leaves of the apron of a roller shutter block (4) are retained on the cleats. The block is raised and applied against a front side (1) of the door or the window. The installation of a fixing screw is ensured. An independent claim is also included for a support cleat implementing the roller shutter block positioning method.
