Attachment device for handrail

A method for fitting a handrail (2) onto vertical support posts (3) has adaptors (6) with a removable fitting onto the posts and with the top ends of the adaptors shaped to provide a seat (60) for the handrail, enabling the handrail to be secured by weld seams (11) or by other fastening means. The top of each post is fitted with a plate (4) with a central tapped hole (8) to take a stud (7) onto which an adaptor is located and secured by a grub screw (10).
