A gate valve is provided to prevent leak of gas due to accumulation of slurry in the gate valve by periodically cleaning slurry in an internal passage of a flange with a second transfer unit, and to increase productivity by restricting stop of process. A gate valve includes a body having a first passage supplying gas and a second passage reciprocating a valve plate supplying or shutting off gas, a first transfer unit reciprocating the valve plate in the second passage, and a second transfer unit reciprocating along the first passage in shutting off a gas supply passage of the body with the valve plate and removing foreign matters from the first passage. The valve plate has a circular plate(14) opening and closing the first passage of the body, and a rectangular frame(12) combined with the circular plate and formed around the circular plate. The second transfer unit has a cylinder(72) sealed and installed in the first passage, and an electronic control unit(74) connected to the cylinder to control reciprocating motion of the cylinder along the first passage.
