Speed and distance controller with stop & go function

Speed and distance control has a stop and go function in a standard operating module (16). A monitoring device (22) is provided for monitoring the functionality of the additional sensor (14) and a switching device (20) for switching it into a limiting without stop and go function, when the additional sensor is not functional.
