A drying control method of a washing machine is provided to decide additional drying time by dividing the laundry amount and the required drying time according to ranges in automatically drying the laundry, and to thereby prevent program errors and simplify the drying algorithm. A drying control method of a washing machine comprises the steps of: sensing the amount of dried objects, that is, the laundry(S401); computing the required time from a drying start point(S402,S405) to a point satisfying the drying conditions; and comparing the sensed amount of laundry with a standard laundry amount and additionally drying the laundry if the sensed value is higher than the standard value(S406,S408). To decide the additional drying time by dividing the required time into ranges, the sensed amount of laundry is compared with the standard amount to sequentially compare from the longest standard time to the shortest standard time set as the required time if the sensed value is higher than the standard value.
