A method for managing an e-mail of an electronic terminal and the electronic terminal are provided to allow a user to immediately check a desired return mail as received from a selected folder by selecting the folder in which the return mail is stored and sending an e-mail. A folder in which a return mail is to be stored is selected among a folder set as default and a folder set by a user(S101,S103,S105,S107). An e-mail with identification information for identifying the selected folder is transmitted(S109). When an arbitrary e-mail is received, the received e-mail is parsed and stored in a folder corresponding identification information included in the parsed e-mail(S111,S113,S115,S117).
