The method involves determining payload type identifiers (PTI). If the payload type identifier is equal to "001" or "011", coding regulation AAL5 is assigned. If the payload type identifier is equal to "000", the coding regulation AAL2 is accepted. It is examined if fulfillment of the criterion for AAL2 is done. If that is fulfilled to criterion for AAL2, the coding regulation AAL2 is assigned. If that is not fulfilled to criterion for AAL2, identification (AALy) is assigned in advance. An independent claim is also included for the device for determining transmission parameter at interface, arranged between first and second nodes of transmission system.
