The compound represented by the general formula (I) is extremely lowly toxic and is hence useful as a safe medical product. It has PPARdelta agonistic activity and is hence useful as a preventive and/or therapeutic agent for diseases caused by sugar/lipid abnormal metabolism, hypertension, circulatory diseases, etc.
