An apparatus for controlling an electric home appliance is provided to simplify the assembly process and increase the productivity by improving structure of control panel. An apparatus for controlling a electric home appliance is composed of a control panel; a main controller mounted on the control panel to choose the main function for operation; and a sub controller installed at one side of the front surface of the main controller to choose a sub function accompanied at the main function chosen by the main controller. The main controller contains an indicating unit(22) for a user to recognize the chosen main function. A displaying unit(23) is mounted at the surface of a part of the control panel separated with a predetermined distance from the main controller to inform a user whether or not the operating condition is set.
