A chip device is provided to prevent a resistor pattern disposed in an outermost part and its adjacent external terminal from being short-circuited by separating the resistor pattern far away from the external terminal. A plurality of electronic device patterns of a straight line type are formed on an element(20). A first metal pad group(60) has a plurality of metal pads whose one end is connected to one side of the electronic device patterns. A second metal pad group(62) has a plurality of metal pads whose one end is connected to the other side of the electronic device patterns. A first external terminal group(64) is connected to each inner electrode pattern exposed to one surface of the element, wherein one end of the first external group is extended to the element. A second external terminal group(66) is connected to each inner electrode pattern exposed to the other surface opposite to the one surface of the element, wherein one end of the second external terminal group is extended to the element. A third external terminal(68) is connected to the inner electrode pattern exposed to another surface of the element wherein one end of the third external terminal is extended to the element. The external terminals of the first and second external terminal groups are connected to the upper surface of the other end of their corresponding metal pads. A metal pad adjacent to the third external terminal is inclined in a direction going away from the third external terminal.
