METHOD TO CREATE INDEXES FOR ENCRYPTED COLUMN

A method for indexing an encrypted column is provided to improve search performance by generating the index for the encrypted column without damaging security for the encrypted column and use a query used before encryption without modification even if index search for the encrypted column is supported. Data of the encrypted column is read, the read data is decrypted, the decrypted data is encrypted again, and an index table is constructed by using the re-encrypted data(507). The index is constructed by using the index table(509). A domain index is constructed to use the constructed index for the index search(511). The index is generated by constructing the index table with a general index table or an IOT(index organized table), and constructing the index for the re-encrypted column for the constructed index table.
