A safety lock apparatus for a door of a drum type washing machine is provided to forcibly open the door in the emergency by installing the forcible unlocking member at one side of the lock housing. A safety lock apparatus for a door of a drum type washing machine comprises: a hook fixed at the door; a locker(10) for controlling the hook; a locker support member(20) hinge-combined with the locker by a locker hinge rod(21); a tension spring(25) installed at the locker support member; a slide(30) mounted at the rear of the locker support member to interrupt the flow interval of the locker support member; a solenoid(40) for receiving the electrical signal to be operated; a flange(41) combined at the solenoid to operate the slide; an unlocking member(60) combined at the slide; a slide hanging sill(32) for turning on/off the operation contact terminal; a door opening switch(51) for displaying the closing and the opening of the door; a locker intermittent rod(15) for interrupting the rotation of the locker; and an inlet device(200) inserted/withdrawn to the housing.
