A small jet propulsion watercraft 10 is provided with side wall portions 14 a and 14 b formed on both the left and right sides of a stepping platform 13 , within which water lock devices 36 and 37 are disposed, respectively. The water lock devices 36 and 37 are connected with connecting pipes 38 a and 38 b located below the stepping platform 13 . An exhaust pipe 40 is connected to the front end of the water lock device 37 , with the exhaust pipe 40 initially extending forward, extending upward and then rearward, and passing above the water lock device 37 within the side wall portion 14 b, and with its end further extending downward to a position below the stepping platform 13 . The water lock devices 36 and 37 are connected with small-diameter pipes 39 a and 39 b at a portion lower than where the connecting pipes 38 a and 38 b are joined to the water lock devices 36 and 37.
