PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL OPERATING EQUIPMENT AND THE METHODE OF THE SAME

A plasma display panel driving device and a driving method thereof are provided to prevent the degradation of a fluorescent material and an after image and to improve luminance by reducing the number of sustain discharging times if the same image is displayed over a pre-set time and extending the ER(Energy Recovery) rising or falling time of sustain pulse. A plasma display panel driving device includes a still image judging unit for judging whether an image displayed on a screen is a still image or not and a pulse driving unit for varying the number of sustain pulses and the ER time of the sustain pulse if the still image is displayed on the screen. The pulse driving unit makes the ER rising time of the sustain pulse longer in proportion to the continuous time of the same image.
