A method for preventing a failure of a sending call in a mobile communication terminal and an apparatus thereof are provided to enable a user to request sending a call by checking a paging response state while not changing base stations. A method for preventing a failure of a sending call in a mobile communication terminal comprises the following several steps. If there occurs a call sending request, it is checked whether the mobile communication terminal is in a paging response state(203,206). If the terminal is in a paging response state, it is checked whether a service option is a short message transmission request(209). If it is, the call sending is performed(215). In case that the terminal is not in the paging response state, the call sending is performed(215). In case that the service option is not the text message transmission request, the call sending request is neglected(212).
