An optimized helix angle rotor for a roots-style supercharger is provided to increase operability of a blower and heat efficiency, and to decrease power consumption by preventing leak and regulating the twist angle of the rotor. A housing(13) of a roots-style blower(11) includes a first end wall and a second end wall for defining an inlet port(17) and an outlet port(19) placed near the second end wall and formed in an intersection of first and second chambers. The roots-style blower includes first and second meshed lobe rotors arranged in the first and second chambers, and the rotors include plural lobes. The lobe has first and second end surfaces axially opposed and sealed to the first and second end walls and top lands sealed to the cylindrical chambers, and decides the twist angle and the helix angle by a lobe number function on the rotors and a function of the twist angle and the axial length. The outlet port defines an end surface(21) arranged in parallel with the second end wall and first and second sides(23,25) crossed by the top lands of the lobes of the first and second rotors. The helix angle is defined by using the first and second sides and the end surface. |
