COMPRESSING AND DECOMPRESSING APPARATUS ABOUT BINARY DATA

An apparatus for compressing and decompressing binary data is provided to achieve high-efficiency compression irrespective of dither matrix pattern by re-arranging binary data according to a screen value. An apparatus for compressing binary data includes a binary data generator(110), a data aligning unit(120), a data compressing unit(130), and an image forming apparatus interface(150). The binary data generator binarizes print data according to screen values to generate binary data. The data aligning unit groups the screen values and re-aligns the generated binary data according to position information of screen values. The data compressing unit compresses the re-aligned binary data. The image forming apparatus interface transmits the compressed binary data to an external image forming apparatus.
