A portable roasting apparatus with a vertical heating plate is provided to restrict smoke by roasting food with radiant heat and collecting oil from meat in an oil pan, to increase radiation efficiency of radiant heat by making the heating plate using ceramic, and to improve convenience and safety by installing a fixing bar for placing a grill. A portable roasting apparatus(10) includes: a body(20) having a storage part(21) containing a gas can(40), an attachable button(22) locking the gas can, an adjusting button(23) regulating gas flow of the gas can and generating ignition and an attachment groove formed in an upper part and connected to an end of a transfer pipe communicated with the gas can; and a couple of vertical heating plates(30) vertically combined with the attachment groove of the body and provided with discharge holes to oppose two surfaces to each other with the discharge holes. An inlet is formed in the vertical heating plate and communicated with the transfer pipe, and plural discharge holes are formed in the vertical heating plate to discharge gas. The surface with the discharge hole is made of ceramic to radiate far infrared rays, and the other surface is made of thermal insulation material to emit light to the specific direction.
