An LED(Light Emitting Diode) driving circuit is provided to make proper current flow in an LED and to reduce the current consumption without forming a new switch by stopping applying power voltage between the LED and a current sense element by turning off a switch element. An LED driving circuit includes a power source(101); a switch element(105); a switch element control circuit(106); an LED(108); and a DC-DC(Direct Current) converter circuit for boosting the voltage of the power source by controlling the switch element and driving the LED with constant current. The LED and the DC-DC converter circuit are separated from the power source or a ground by the switch element. The LED and a current sense element(107) connected in series and a smoothing capacitance(104) are connected to both ends of a rectifier element(103) and an inductor(102) connected in series, in parallel.
