An electro-optical apparatus and an electronic device are provided to improve the color reproduction in a transmission display, by making the number of colored layers disposed in a light transmitting area larger than the number of colored layers disposed in a light reflecting area. Each of plural sub-pixels(Dxr,Dxg,Dxc,Dxb) has a light transmitting area(At) and a light reflecting area(Ar). Colored layers of the same color are disposed in each of the light transmitting area and the light reflecting area. The number of colored layers disposed in the light transmitting area is larger than the number of colored layers disposed in the light reflecting area. The color reproducible range in the transmission display is set to be wider than the color reproducible range in the reflection display, in xy chromaticity diagram.
