A method for flushing a filter of a water purifier, which discharges purified water collected in the filter of the water purifier for a predetermined time or more, and reduces maintenance cost of the water purifier and supplies fresh water to users by preventing multiplication of bacteria or microorganisms within the filter, thereby reducing exchange frequency of the filter, is provided. A method for refreshing a filter of a water purifier comprises a filter flushing process of repeatedly discharging raw water collected in a filter part through a water supply valve and a drain valve installed within the water purifier when it enters a waiting mode. The filter flushing process comprises: a first step of determining whether a filter flushing time is arrived or not by counting time when it enters the waiting mode; a second step of opening the water supply valve and the drain valve installed within the water purifier to discharge raw water of the filter part to the outside when the filter flushing time is arrived; a third step of closing the water supply valve to cut off supply of the raw water into the filter part when the water supply time is arrived by determining whether a water supply time is arrived or not when raw water of the filter part is discharged to the outside; and a fourth step of closing the drain valve to cut off discharge of purified water refined in the filter part to the outside when the drain stopping time is arrived by determining whether a drain stopping time is arrived or not after the water supply valve is cut out in the third step.
