A clamping apparatus and a molding device are provided to simplify the control and the composition of the apparatus by mounting the clamping cylinder generating the clamping force by the oil pressure. A clamping apparatus(2) is composed of a base; a fixing die plate(6) fixed on the base to hold a fixing die(501); a movable die plate(7) movably mounted to the die opening direction on the base to hold a movable die(502); a rack fixed at the base; a pinion geared with the rack; a drive source driving/rotating the pinion; tie bars(8U,8D) having a jointed portion(8a); a joint portion(10) mounted on the movable die plate; and a clamping cylinder(11) installed on the movable die plate and formed with a piston combining a cylinder chamber receiving the piston and the tie bar to generate the clamping force by the oil pressure supplied to the cylinder chamber.
