DRIVING METHOD FOR DISPLAY DEVICE

A driving method of a display device is provided to accurately detect a critical value about on/off operations of a photo-sensor by restricting the influence of various noises from being applied to a read signal line of the photo-sensor. A display device includes plural source signal lines(5) formed on an insulating substrate; plural read signal lines(7) arranged in parallel to the source signal lines; plural selectors(1) connected to the read signal lines; plural gate signal lines(3) installed across the source signal lines via an insulating film; a photo-sensor(6) formed near a crossing part of the source signal lines and gate signal lines, and connected to the read signal line; and a detection circuit(9) selectively connected with an optional read signal line by the selectors connected to the read signal lines to detect the value of the photo-sensor. The timing for turning on the gate signal line is delayed by a predetermined period enough to prevent switching noise generated right after the selector is turned on from influencing the read signal line, from the on-timing of the selector.
