An apparatus and a method of determining a diameter of a parabolic antenna are provided to determine the optimum size of antenna without repeated calculation processes even when the difference of frequencies is large. In an apparatus of determining a diameter of a parabolic antenna, a setting device(51) sets an electric characteristic value of the parabolic antenna according to the external input. A parameter input device(52) receives frequency, antenna diameter parameter, antenna efficiency, ET and EOC angle as parameters with respect to each of a plurality of frequencies to be received at the parabolic antenna. A graph generating device(53) generates a graph at one Cartesian coordinate, wherein the graph shows the relationship between the size of antenna for the EOC angle and EOC directivity based on the input parameter corresponding to each frequency. An antenna size determining device(55) determines the size of antenna satisfying the predetermined EOC directivity by using the graph generated in the graph generating device(53). A graph output device(54) outputs a graph by mapping the graph at the Cartesian coordinate with the axes of antenna size and EOC directivity, and displays and outputs the size of antenna determined in the antenna size determining device(55) on the graph.
