A multi-function peripheral having a function of extracting an image from a print and a method of controlling the multi-function peripheral are provided to easily extract a desired image from a print, filter the extracted image and store or print the image without using an additional operation or damaging the print. A multi-function peripheral includes an image extraction unit(340), an image arrangement unit(350), an image filtering unit(360), a controller(310), a printing unit(390), and an image formatting unit(370). The image extraction unit extracts only an image from scan data of a print. The image arrangement unit forms objects from the image and stores the objects. The image filtering unit filters the image to correct the image. The controller controls the respective components and stores the processed image in a memory. The printing unit prints the corrected image. When the corrected image includes a plurality of images, the image formatting unit rearranges the filtered image and prints the rearranged image.
