A method and a system for sharing a digital database are provided to enable multiple platforms to use the database having the same data format to minimize a data storage space by sharing the digital database with the platforms through the network. Each client platform(110) has a client database. A server platform(120) is connected to the client platforms through the network(130) and includes a server database having the same data format as the client database. The client platform generates a data request signal to the server platform and the server platform generates a search result signal to the client system by responding to the data request signal. The data request signal has the data format having a signal initialization mark, a client number, a server number, query information, and a signal termination mark. The search result signal has the data format having the signal initialization mark, the client number, the server number, the query information, an information result, and the signal termination mark.
