PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission system in which the element intervals of a plurality of receiving antenna elements may not be set in the half-wave length or less of carrier waves, and a receiver for the transmission system. SOLUTION: A transmitter 100 overlaps and transmits a pilot signal to an information signal (an input signal). The receiver has the receiving antenna elements #1 to #4 receiving a signal 110 in which the pilot signal is overlapped with the information signal; receiving-frequency converters #1 to #4 to which signals received by the receiving antenna elements #1 to #4 are input respectively, and which down-converts the information signal 213 by using the pilot signal 212 as a local signal and outputs an output signal 215; and a synthetic circuit 260 synthesizing output signals from the receiving-frequency converters #1 to #4.
