<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auction system and auction method capable of reflecting intentions of participants sufficiently. <P>SOLUTION: The auction system is one in which users conduct the auction via a network, stores a member ID for identifying a user in association with an auction ID for identifying the auction, and presence information showing the user condition in association with the member ID. When holding the auction, the auction system acquires the auction ID, and acquires the presence information associated with the acquired auction ID.
