PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clip inserting device which can arrange a bent and raised end of a clip in a predetermined phase, and facilitates installation of the clip. SOLUTION: The clip inserting device is formed of a clip guide means 143 for guiding the clip 36 to an end of an installation member, a clip diameter reducing means for resiliently reducing the diameter of the clip 36, and a clip fitting means 146 for fitting the diameter-reduced clip 36 into a circumferential groove 42. The clip diameter reducing means is provided with a diameter reducing member for squeezing the clip 36 into a guide section, and the diameter reducing member has a first phase holding groove formed in an end face abutting on the clip 36, for setting the bent and raised end in the predetermined phase. The clip fitting means 146 is provided with a squeezing member 168 for squeezing the diameter-reduced clip 36 into the circumferential groove 42, and the squeezing member 168 has a second phase holding groove formed in an end face abutting on the clip 36, which is in the same phase as that of the first phase holding groove. Then, by maintaining the phase of the bent and raised end 45 of the clip 36 set in the clip guide means 143, the clip is installed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
