PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a convenient and useful grip bar for an earthquake which can prevent a person who escapes under a table or a desk from being thrown out therefrom in the earthquake and can increase even the strength of the table or the desk further, and to provide furniture with the grip bar. SOLUTION: The grip bar comprises: a pipe-like support 2 extended in a gravity direction; an attaching member 3 provided on the upper part of the support 2 to be attached to the lower surface of the top plate of the table and a desk, etc. and an adjusting support body 4 provided movably on the lower part of the support 2 for adjusting the length of the lower part of the support 2. The adjusting support body 4 is constituted of a base part 41 to be inserted into the support 2 and slid, a screw shaft 42 extended from the upper part of the base part 41 into the support 2, and a flange-like grounding part 43 provided on the lower part of the support 2 and grounded on a floor or the like, and a screwing part 25 for adjusting the length of the adjusting support body 4 projecting from the support 2 by being screwed with the screw shaft 42 is provided inside the support 2.
