A CISS(Caller Information Sending Service) supply method and device using an SMS(Short Message Service) function and a recording medium where a program for realizing the method and device is recorded are provided to enable a terminal, where a CID(Caller ID) service is not supported, to receive the CID service, thereby expanding targets of the CID service. A receiving MSC(Mobile Switching Center) receives caller information and receiving terminal information including information which indicates whether a receiving terminal is a CISS supportable terminal, from an HLR(Home Location Register)(S300,S302). The receiving MSC decides whether the received receiving terminal information indicates the CISS supportable terminal(S304). If not, the receiving MSC sends a receiving signal to a receiving terminal through an assigned traffic channel, and sends the caller information through a short message(S308,S310). The short message where the caller information is displayed is shown on a display screen of the receiving terminal to provide the caller information. |
